To our surprise and delight Cal is still doing great with the addition of Evvy. Each day he is still happy to see her, wants to check on her periodically, and asks to hold her.

Evvy has now had a couple of baths since coming home and each one seems to go over a little better than the last (see below).

Little Man still fits in his toy box (see below).

Each night after Cal goes to bed Clint is able to spend dedicated time with Evangeline (see below). Later, when Ev woke up Clint had a hard time removing her from his coat because she kept sliding further inside down his silky shirt...hahaha!

Happy 2nd Birthday Cal!!!

It's hard to believe that just two years ago Calvin entered our lives...he is such an enormous part of our lives that it feels like he's always been with us. Thus far Cal has overshot every description of the abilities of a 24 month old; for instance, his vocabulary far surpassess the average of 50-75 words. Every day he amazes us and we are so happy to be spending today spoiling our son...infact, we're giving him his first birthday cupcake in a few minutes.

Cal was so excited about the balloons that he kept running through them and kicking them; he was so fast that by the time the camera snapped the photo he was often out of the shot.

12-3...a very long day

Today was a very long day full of laughter and tears as well as preparation for Cal's birthday tomorrow. The morning started pretty well with Cal wanting to give Evvy kissess and hugs...

We then moved to crying and pouting because he wasn't aloud to open a package that arrived this morning from Great Grammie & Papa. Later in the evening I explained to him that it's his birthday present and he can open it tomorrow, he was okay after the chat.

Later in the day Evvy lost her umbilical cord stump...my how time flies.

More kisses for sister

While Clint was straightening up the house Cal decided to help by hanging from the laundry basket. At first Clint was going to tell him to get down, that's not what we do, yadda yadda but then he saw that I couldn't stop laughing and neither could Cal---neither of us was in any position to tell him to stop so we took pictures instead.

We're now wrapping up the evening by preparing for Cal's 2nd birthday tomorrow. Clint aired up approximately 70 balloons which well fall onto Cal in the morning as we enter the family room. We have the camcorder set up to record the moment of surprise..we're looking forward to spoiling him tomorrow and having a great day with our new family of four.

December 2nd

Yesterday we ventured to Sacramento for Ev's first pediatric check up. Ev passed with flying colors, so much so that she gets to skip her 2 week check up. Ev is already back to her birth weight and doing fabulous. Cal also scored at the doctor's office as he was finally able to get his flu vaccine as well as the H1N1 vaccine---they were both troopers.

After the appointment we had to run a few errands. While Ev and I waited in the car Clint took Cal into Walmart for a potty trip...while in there Cal wooed the bankers and received a lollipop, he was so excited.

November Moments

In the evenings, after Cal has gone to bed, Clint soaks up time with Evvy.

Earlier this week Karyn & Zack dropped by to see Ev (also see pics below).

The boys had a lot of fun playing together; Cal is already looking forward to the next play date.
