Meeting Great Grammie & Great Papa

Last weekend my grandparents, AKA Grammie & Papa, came to Sacramento to meet there one and only great grandson. We had a lot of fun watching Grammie and Papa get to know Calvin. Over the weekend we also had Christmas, went shopping, played cards, and ate lots of great food. We're looking forward to seeing Grammie & Papa again for the Easter holiday, at which time Calvin will get to meet his great uncle David.

This was the first time Grammie ever held Calvin-she's a natural! When Grammie & Papa arrived Calvin was an hour into his nap. I told Grammie to pick him up and say hello but she just didn't want to wake him up; the whole time she watched him sleep I could see the anticipation in her face. So, when I saw him twitch, after about 5 minutes, I picked him up and introduced them. I think I was just as excited to see Grammie hold him as she was to cuddle him.

When Papa and Clint came in (they like to chat and do "guy" things) Grammie was nice enough to share, haha...This was Papa's first time holding Cal.

Papa was impressed by Cal's strength and good temperment

Like two peas in a pod

Saturday, Calvin wore his I know my Grammie's going to spoil me outfit (it was a gift from Grammie & Papa)

During our "Christmas" Papa & Grammie received an "updated" Lema Family Tree with pictures of my mom, Uncle David, Clint, Cal, and myself.

The tree was a big hit!

Mr. Cool
-Poor Clint lost his glasses on an outing the day before my grandparent's came into town--so it was "I wear my sunglasses at night...". We still haven't located his glasses but a new pair are on the way.

Papa found that Cal enjoyed foot massages--he would sit on Papa's lap and once Papa started to rub his little foot he couldn't help but fall asleep.

Superbowl Weekend 2008

Every year we attend my Aunt Ginger & Uncle George's Superbowl Party and this year was no exception. With Ginger's help we were able to pinpoint an opening in the snowy weather for safe travel there and back. The visit was incredibly fun for all of us. Clint entertained himself by shoveling snow off their deck and playing with Payden & Kasey while Calvin & I enjoyed time with the rest of the family.
The highlight of this trip was that Calvin was able to meet his Great Grandma Sears, Great Aunt Ginger, Great Uncle George, and his cousins Sean & Crystal and their sons Payden (3 1/2 yrs) & Kasey (16mths).

Cousin Kasey
-Kasey has his father's beautiful big blue eyes, in fact, Kasey looks just like his handsome Daddy.

Cousin Payden
-Payden, on the other hand, has his Mommy's beautiful eyes and looks so much like her.

I love this picture.

-Payden & Kasey weren't too sure what to make of their new cousin Cal who only squirmed and cooed. With Dad by their side, the boys gazed at Calvin in wonder.
Great Uncle George. George has an amazing talent with babies, they sleep almost instantaneously. Unfortunately, with all the photo ops we did not Great Aunt Gingi and Calvin--we'll have to remedy this as soon as possible.

Daddy & Cal

Daddy placed Cal in the dump truck that Payden was playing with; you can see Payden's knees in the background as he patiently sat waiting for the use of his toy again
