Mommy & Son weekend

This weekend it was just the two of us. We had a lot of fun this weekend playing, house shopping, napping, and even had time for a Sunday outting.

Calvin found an unopened package of ring binder insertable tabs and entertained himself for a good 1/2 hour listening to the crinkly plastic wrap & sliding it around the floor.

He also found a new playground this weekend located just under the kitchen table

Saturday night Cal ran into an old friend...Mr. Zwieback toast

mmm...

Cal even received a 2nd visit from Mr. Zwieback toas

He was so excited he hardly noticed the difference between his fingers & his toast (see shoulder)

Whew, now it's bath time

Today we went out to run some errands and see the sites. While making a quick stop at Babies R Us a trainee from the Kiddie Kandidis Portriat Studio, who is working on her certification, passed by us and received a huge simle from Cal. Upon seeing his beautiful smile she asked to take pictures of him as part of her ceritification process...These pictures (above & below) are the result.

After his outting and photo shoot our lil'guy was exhausted

When we were out Cal picked up some new pacifiers (the old ones offer no resistance) and a nifty little thing that is supposed to help introduce him to solid foods (see tray of walker in pic).

Ruth Campout

After our FtBragg camp out (see blog below) we went to Ruth Lake, CA for our annual Sears campout. We were fortunate to be able to take our nephew AJ with us as part of his 10th b-day celebration. AJ & Clint were able to explore the lake from one side to the other and still have time for fishing and visiting with everyone. A large majority of our family were able to come up, even if just for a day, to visit. During the campout Calvin also received his first hair cut from his Great Aunt Ginger. One wonderful part of our family campout is the ability to have many of our family members together all at once, family who may not be able to spend so much time together throughout the year. With this in mind, I thought a little family linkage would be great for this blog...

AJ enjoying Ginger's (my Dad's sister) pool--in between the Ft Bragg campout & the one at Ruth we were able to spend the night at Ginger's. Ginger's house is approximatley 6 miles from the campsite.

Daddy dunked Calvin in the pool; no easy glide in unfortuntately

Calvin was able to meet his 2nd cousin Cash Dean (my 1st cousin Cash's son) during the campout. Cash Dean was born about 10 weeks early in November and he is making excellent progress catching up to Cal who was born in Dec.

Cal kept getting over-heated while camping so I gave him a very cool bath on the picnic table where he was able to play and cool down; he loved it.

Ft Bragg Campout

This month we attended our annual Combo family camp out in Ft. Bragg. We had a great time with everyone exploring the numerous beaches and campfire chats. This was Calvin's first time camping and his first time seeing the beach. Clint has been to Ft Bragg numerous times and was therefore able to orient me to the town, it was my first time being there. For those who do not know our family linkage I have included it.

Thanks Karyn for this fabulous picture of Calvin!
