Trip to Oregon

From 6/25 to 6/28 we went to my grandparent's in Oregon to celebrate my Uncle David's birthday and to enjoy a nice long visit with family. While there we spent time with Great Papa, Great Grammie, Great Uncle David, and Grandmom Teresa. Calvin was constantly on the move from one person to the next. Great Papa and Grammie showed Cal many magical and intriguing toys from a jack-n-the box to a glass table with reappearing Papas and teddy bears. On this trip we also learned that Great Papa has the magical fingers that can massage Cal's shoulders so well his knees buckle!

Great Papa & Calvin

In Calvin's new shoes he may be applying for River Dance soon

Grandmom Teresa and Great Papa taught Cal the magic of a glass table...

Keep looking Cal--what do you see under the table, Papa?

You can barely see it but, yes, Great Papa is under the table looking at Calvin while Calvin is looking for Papa...

ah hah!! There's Papa!!

6/26 was Great Uncle David's 44th birthday. For David's birthday we had a great party at Abby's pizza and a wrap up celebration at home afterwards with cake and ice cream.
Somehow Daddy caught a moment with Cal, whew!
--who could pass up a picture of Calvin in Daddy's new Cal hat (a belated b-day gift from Grandmom Teresa)

Great Grammie found Calvin a Jack-n-the Box & was able to teach him all about it. After thoroughly inspecting the toy with his most serious expression on he learned how to help Grammie put the jack-n-the box back down and then turn the crank and await its return

We did lots of reading with Great Papa and...

Lots of reading with Great Grammie....

On our last night there we saw an incredible thunder & lighting storm. The night was warm with a light rain and with the amazing nature show Clint could not pass up the opportunity to sleep outside and watch. What a great way to end a vacation...

and what an amazing view to wake up to

Wrapping up June 08

Poor Calvin is still teething. The other night the discomfort got the best of him and nothing except his empty Mylicon bottle and Daddy's foot resting on the walker would keep him from vocalizing his anguish.

Cal decided to help us with the house hunting by crunching some numbers...

crunching the mortgage rates

Our happy lil' guy

...uh, very happy

Every day Daddy and Cal go for their stroll to check the mail

Cal now loves this walking toy. A few minutes after this picture was taken I repositioned it so he could push it from the back...he then walked around the living room for 30 minutes! Thank goodness for the camcorder!

JellyStone

On Clint's birthday we went & stayed the night with Aunt Patti, Dan & Madison at the JellyStone Park. Patti & dan showed us the sites, took us for a wonderful walk around the park, and provided a delicious birthday dinner to celebrate Clint's 40th.

What a view! What's on Yogi's shoulder?

Calvin!

My boys...

We've been busy..

Sorry for the delay in updating our blog, I know many of you have been eagerly awaiting new pictures. Calvin is changing very quickly; he is now able to pull himself to a standing position, babbles & vocalizes himself more, sleeps through most the night, ate his first 8 oz bottle, now has 2 bottom front teeth, and shows his excitement when Mommy comes home from work.

Calvin now has frequent story times
Calvin pulled himself up to a standing position and then was only satisfied when he skillfully balanced himself on top of the toy that was supporting him

Some early Saturday mornings Calvin joins me in the kitchen while I put groceries away and make Calvin's home-made baby food

Great Grammie & Papa sent Cal and Clint matching beanies for Father's Day

I'm thristy!

I'm 6 Months Old!

Calvin is officially 6 months old now. In this short time he has over come many hurdles and has learned many new skills. Recently he has started trying to give kisses to me and his daddy. He can also stand while holding onto something, sit, and has his two bottom front teeth. Right now, once set in the crawl position, he can rock back and forth and makes attempts to crawl. Once he gets the leg arm coordination he will be unstoppable.

Calvin was so excited when I broke out the camera today that he tried to get as close as he could. As a result his pasty white skin is blindingly white...

Calvin can now step up and down

He likes to stand on railings--anything really

and he loves Daddy time

We found that home-made corn sticks to the roof of your mouth if you don't add a little milk. Calvin loves corn, he loves it so much so that his Daddy lovingly calls him "Cornholio"

Eagerly awaiting peaches...

Memorial Day

For Memorial Day we had a fun-filled BBQ at Kevin & Krisite's. While there we spent some much needed time with family and friends. We also saw Zack's new hair cut, watched the girls & Kasey on the slip n slide, and had a fabulous meal.
